In The Spotlight Today: Diana Rangaves!

Tell me about yourself, how old are you and where are you from?

Diana: I am a foster mom for PapHavenRescue.org and live in California with my dogs and pasture pets, in their forever home. Among other things, I write, edit, teach, and am a pharmacist. As the author of the Rosy Posy Papillion children’s series; One-hundred percent of the author’s royalties benefit PapHavenRescue.org.

How old were you when you realized you wanted to be a writer?

Diana: As a child in grammar school, we had to do book reports. I learned to enjoy reading and writing. This helped me in college, pharmacy school, then teaching ethics at the local college, and as an author.

What inspired you to write a Children’s book?

Diana: The real Rosy Posy! I am a foster mom for Pap Haven Rescue and Rosy Posy came up for adoption. About one month after she arrived, she escaped into my field. I found her safe visiting with the pony, ram, and goats! Rosy Posy is strong, curious, and has courage. What started out as fostering Papillions became a vision for the stronger need to teach values. That evolved into this Values Series Book, of which 100% of author’s royalties benefit Pap Haven Rescue.

In 100 words or less, tell us about your book!

Diana: We need a tool to teach each half generation of children values. The Adventures of Rosy Posy Papillion: Friendship is a delightful story of adventure and more between "critters", furry, feathered and in between. She faces the difficulty of how to make friends. She then finds herself in some trouble. Will her friends help her? Who will step up?

The next one is written, The Adventures of Rosy Posy Papillion ~ Acceptance, where Rosy Posy and friends learn about acceptance. This is an adventure that teaches the art of believing. Courage and fun also come from the new Rosy Posy Song of Acceptance.

What type of books do you enjoy? What are two of your favorites?

Diana: Information is essential! The way I learn and grow is by reading all types of books. The two most recent are wide apart in subject matter. One was ‘A New Kind of Science’ by Stephen Wolfram and the other was rereading ‘Alice in Wonderland.’

Besides reading and writing, what else do you enjoy doing during your free time?

Diana: Play with my rescue dogs and care for my pasture pets! They are a big family of sheep, goats, a pony and a horse, who all get along.

If you could pick any song to describe this book, what would it be?

Diana: It would be to sing the Rosy Posy Friendship Song along with her friends and imagine along with Rosy Posy Papillion!

“The best things are not things, they are our friends.”

“We are friends, buddies to the end.

Friends are kind, the hardest to find.

Friends are caring, lessons in sharing.

The fun has begun, together everyone!”

Do you have any upcoming books in the works?

Diana: I am actively working on a series, the Ethical Hacker ~ Acidemia a political suspense thriller novel, involving the politics of power at a college campus; foundation fraud, discrimination, cover-ups, and greed leading all the way up to the Chancellors’ and Governor’s office. Also, the Ethical Hacker ~ Verdict a criminal suspense thriller novel, wish we could say more! There is an except on the website; https://theethicalhackerblog.wordpress.com/

Do you have any book specials/giveaways or events coming up?

Diana: That is under the publisher’s control.

Where can readers keep up with you on social media? Post your usernames!

Anything else you would like to share?

Diana: Persistence, never ever give up! In anything in your life, if you feel you are being pulled, pushed and guided, follow the yellow brick road! For writing, just write one sentence at a time. One sentence a day if that is what it takes. After a few days you have a paragraph, then another, then a chapter. Mark Twain said, “Write what you know.” It never fails!
