Founded in 2020, COFFEE WINE & WORDS is a progressive literary and art magazine from Hardy Publications that showcases writers, activists, and other creators of color. Through interviews, poems, and personal stories of overcoming life's greatest challenges, stay up to date on all the latest literary and arts news! Available in print and digital!

OWNER/WRITER/EDITOR

 

YA/NA author and poet born and raised in the Washington D.C. area. In 2017 Chanel decided to take a leap of faith and follow her dreams of publishing her first book, 'My Colorblind Rainbow' which made the 'In The Margins Award Long List' for YA fiction in 2018. She launched Hardy Publications in September of 2017, working as a freelance writer and literary blogger. She's written for publications such as Women and Words, 25 Hottest Indie Authors Artists Advocates 2020, and CulEpi. With certifications in persuasive writing and public speaking, TEFL(Teaching English as a Foreign Language) while overseas, Chanel uses her platform to raise awareness for different charities and non-profit organizations, volunteering both locally and internationally, and giving back to the community.

A fan of Shakespeare, tragic love stories, cheesy love stories, Michael B. Jordan, and wine. Words heal her soul and give her a voice. Her pen is how she screams.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, becoming alumni of the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She began her writing journey at age 8, making writing her career in 2014, with the publishing of her first series of poetry books, Love Songs of the Unrequited. She is the founder and Lead Administrator of the blog The Ideal Firestarter (theidealfirestarter.com) since 2016. Her personal work, including poetry and essays, are on her personal site I Breathe Fire. She wrote and released her first novel, Ruby, in 2018. In addition to writing, she enjoys cooking, road trips, film noir, and gardening. She lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her two daughters, Lauren and Danielle.
