Today in The Writer Spotlight: K. Reshay!

How old are you and where are you from?

I am 39 years old and I’m from Mississippi. Tell us more about your book!

Smiddy's Dry Cleaners is a staple in the Jackson, MS community. Although, it wouldn't have survived without the hard work and dedication of Ruth Ann Sumner and San Winters. The ladies have been friends and co-workers for years. Ruth Ann can't find love and yearns for the day her heart will become whole again. San's toxic relationship hinders her from becoming a successful hairstylist. From crazy customers to broken-down machines, the ladies have seen it all. But life as they know it will change once a simple act of kindness turns their whole world upside down. In this hilarious and thought-provoking drama, the ladies will learn the true definition of live, laugh, and love. You’re sharing an elevator with a big-name publisher. Pitch your book using 20 words or less!

All Things Work Out Well is a feel-good novel that explores friendship and the true spirit of life. What does your ideal writing space look like?

I love the beach. My ideal writing space would definitely need a beautiful beach view and include lots of candles. If your book was turned into a movie, who would play your main characters?

I love getting asked this question! As a playwright, seeing your work acted out is incredible. I would have to say Michael Ealy (Morris), Idris Elba (Chauncey), Jill Scott (Ruth Ann), and Jill Marie Jones (San). You’re stranded on an island, and only one character from any book can save you. Who are you picking?

I’d definitely pick Winston from How Stella Got Her Groove Back by one of my favorite authors Terry McMillan. Besides being a writer, what else do you enjoy?

I absolutely love to read and travel. I also enjoy stage plays and live music.

Do you have any upcoming book promotions?

Yes, I’m working on a travel memoir and children’s book. Where can readers buy your book? or wherever books are sold. My latest novel can also be requested at your local library.
